Job Duties

Summary:

Shall perform a variety of duties, but are not limited to, those listed below as in accordance with Bloom Garden Supply’s policies and rules, under the direction of the store manager and owners. Primary responsibilities are to assist customers with exemplary customer service, maintain a clean and respectful work environment, process deliveries, and assist managers diligently with tasks they are given.

 

Qualifications of the Bloom Retail Associate:

Knowledge specific to our hydroponic and gardening industry, retail sales experience, and customer service experience. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. High school diploma required, BA preferred.

 

Responsibilities of the Bloom Retail Associate:

  • Providing excellent customer service

  • Helping to maintain a positive store environment and customer experience

  • Ability to troubleshoot customer’s gardening questions and issues

  • Operating cash register via point of sales software

  • Performing supportive tasks assigned by managers

  • Stocking inventory

  • Maintaining store displays and demos

  • Processing deliveries

  • Continual learning of product applications and usage

  • Attending staff trainings for products

  • Upkeep of store cleanliness

  • Opening and closing store responsibilities

  • Obtaining a forklift certification - to be provided by Bloom Garden Supply

  • Ability to perform forklift duties when called upon

  • Assisting customers with heavy or large orders

  • Demonstrating ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about customers

  • Flexibility to work at multiple stores

 

Physical Demands

Lifting weight - Employee must be able to lift bags of soil, large containers of nutrients, and move products from warehouse to store shelves.

Employee should be able to stand / walk for up to 8 hours of their shift.
